We are thrilled to share that Hurja Halla’s second album, Surma hiihti, has received a glowing 4-star review in the latest issue of Songlines Magazine.

In the review, critic Chris Wheatley describes the album as a ”notable release” that draws deep inspiration from mythology and nature.

The review highlights the unique blend of cello, mouth harp, flute, and percussion, commenting it ”blended to perfection”.

”’Teeren tanssi’ is a high, bright and wistful affair, shot through with warmth and joy, while ’Otsoseni ainoiseni’ summons visions of dark winter landscapes lit by acres of pure white snow. ”
